FACILITY SERVICES
ITE SKILLS CERTIFICATE (ISC) IN FACILITY SERVICES
This course provides students with knowledge, skills and attitudes in performing first-line maintenance, repairing and servicing of air-conditioning system, plumbing and sanitary systems, and electrical systems in accordance with manufacturers’ guidelines, statutory requirements and respective codes of practices.
Core Modules
There are 5 core modules in the Facility Services Course.
The 5 core modules are :

Core Modules for Facility Services
Plumbing System Maintenance
On completion of the module, students should be able to perform basic installation of piping system in buildings, replace water fittings, sanitary appliances and water pumping system; and interpret simple piping diagram of building/floor plan.

Electrical System Maintenance
On completion of the module, students should be able to install and rectify faults in electrical wiring systems in domestic and industrial premises.

Refrigeration System Maintenance
On completion of the module, students should be able to fabricate and install refrigeration piping, perform leak testing, evacuate and charge refrigeration system, replace defective components and verify refrigeration system performance.

|
Air-Conditioning System Maintenance
On completion of the module, students should be able to verify air-conditioning system performance, rectify refrigerant leakage, service and replace defective components of air-conditioning system.

|
Industry Experiential Programme (IEP)
As partial fulfilment of the ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) assessment, students embark on an Industry Experiential Programme (IEP), a 10-week industry attachment in Year 4. The main objective of the IEP is to provide students with authentic learning opportunities, to perform real-world tasks in industry settings.
On completion of the Facility Services IEP module, students should be able to integrate and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes learnt in their course to supporting in building services. They should be able to also acquire new learning and further deepen their workplace competencies.
Students' performance at IEP is graded by their respective industry supervisors, based on the Facility Services IEP Skills List.

Students must complete a minimum of 3 electives at the end of the course.

Taster Programme for Facility Services
The taster programme for the ISC in Facility Services aims to provide students with some exposures to the skills and knowledge relevant to what they will be learning when taking ISC in Facility Services course in year 3. This taster programme also serves to aid students to make an informed decision when selecting ISC module at the end of year 2. Students will have the opportunity to acquire some basic skills in plumbing system maintenance, electrical system maintenance, refrigeration system maintenance and air-conditioning system maintenance after completing the taster programme.
Progression Opportunities for Facility Services
Upon successful completion of the ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) in Facility Services course, students with a minimum GPA score of 2.5 will be eligible to apply for the following ITE Nitec courses:
