EQUAL Programme, GRIT Week & PDLP Information
EQUAL Programme
The EQUAL Programme is a unique equestrian program started in 2011 which uses horse-based therapy, exercises and activities to help youth develop social, emotional, communication and behavioural skills. We are pleased to inform you that the EQUAL programme is scheduled for all Year 1 students. The venue is at 100 Jalan Mashhor, which comprises teaching facilities, an academy and a stable of horses. The students will be accompanied by the school teachers in a chartered bus to and from the venue during curriculum time.
The EQUAL curricula has been developed especially for NorthLight School. It aims to utilize the unique characteristics of the horses to nurture the Habits of Mind of Persisting, Thinking Flexibly, Taking Responsible Risks, Managing Impulsivity and Listening with Understanding and Empathy, in our students. Our students will be guided by qualified professional staff and equine specialists during the EQUAL Programme.
